Capital City The Capital City is home to Fire Nation royalty such as the Fire Lord, his family, and the nobles. It is protected by the Great Gates of Azulon and has a strong navy presence in the surrounding harbor. The city itself is located within the crater of a long-dormant volcano, the entrance to which is designed so that the defenders can always fall back to higher ground, making it one of the most efficiently fortified cities in the world. Surrounding settings include the Harbor, the Harbor City, and the Royal Plaza. |

Boiling Rock The Boiling Rock is the most heavily secured prison in the entire Fire Nation, and possibly the entire world. Prisoners whose crimes are so horrible that they demand a more intense sentence are sent here, including war prisoners, murderers, and traitors. The Equalists heavily utilize this for firebending prisoners. Because it is situated in the middle of a boiling lake surrounded by sheer rock faces and then ocean that stretches for miles and miles on end, no one has ever escaped from it except for Team Avatar, but they don't count because they're the main characters. |

Fire Fountain City Named for the imposing statue of Fire Lord Ozai that resides in the city center, Fire Fountain City is one of the less affluent places in the Fire Nation. Residents of the city should take care not to go out alone after dark, lest they put themselves in needless danger. Its citizens are largely working-class and pride themselves on their city's strong industrial economy, as well as the year-round fair. |

Ember Island This popular resort island is set amongst tropical palm trees and luscious greenery, and is home to the vacation homes and estates of several wealthy and powerful Fire Nation officials. According to some people, Ember Island is not just a resort, but a spiritual place that grants insight to its visitors about their inner selves. Could this be referring to the strong culture of underground bending initiated by the Order of the White Lotus? This is, after all, where Fire Nation benders are taken to be trained. |
